I remember getting in trouble by Mrs. Cadena when I pulled out a brush in the middle of class and started to untangle my hair.
Lady Liberty March 29, 2008
I remember, “Howdy neighbor, happy day, we’re here to cheer you on your way, with a song, and a smile, and a yippee-ki-yay, we the people, U.S.A,” which was the opening line to my 2nd grade play. The only reason I got to play Lady Liberty, was becuase Erica Dowes was kidnapped by her father and I was her understudy.
how’s the weather up there? March 28, 2008
I remember when I was in kindergarten, thinking 6th graders were so tall.
trashy learning March 27, 2008
I remember in the 2nd grade, we all had to bring our lunches, and after we ate lunch, we had to keep our trash. This is where my teacher, Mrs. Caldwell, demonstrated the amount of trash vs. recyclable goods I used every day. I still feel guilty for using plastic bags.
long beautiful hair March 26, 2008
I remember my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Martinez would reward the girls in our class by allowing up to brush her hair at nap time while she sat and gossiped with Mrs. Gonzales, a 2nd grade teacher.
ranger rick March 26, 2008
I remember the magazine, Ranger Rick and the desire to become a marine biologists. I’m still envious of people who kept that dream alive.
pilgrim pride March 25, 2008
I remember this project we had to do in 3rd grade where everyone in the class was given the name of a real child who came across on the Mayflower. We had to keep a daily journal, writing entries as if we were the kid. The girl’s name I was give was Love, which I thought was awesome, but she died before they landed.
Then I had to pretend to be a ghost writing in the journal.
